It’s been almost sixteen years since the first\/last Scorgies reunion @ the historic German House in Rochester. This is the fourth(?) version of the “I Remember Scorgies” blog… but who’s counting? The old site went down in flames after the Bop Shop updated their website, and for a brief period of time it has shared the internets with rockinrochester.com<\/a>. After some consideration, I felt that the Scorgies blog should live on by its bad self, and transferred rockinrochester.com to Jimmy Filigeri (with able assist from Joe Tunis of Carbon Records fame). So, I’m sifting through the pages of the blog, fixing broken links, making a few updates here and there, all the while still plugging away at archiving material from one of the most interesting phases of Rochester’s storied musical eras. <\/p>\n

And of course, I’m on the hunt for material to post. Of note, last year Captured Tracks<\/a> released “Strum & Thrum: The American Jangle Underground 1983\u200b-\u200b1987” to much acclaim; the promo video they released included footage shown on Albany’s “Real George’s Backroom<\/a>“. Circa 1985, the clip also features an interview conducted by Michael Dygert who also tried to serve as a conduit for Rochester musicians looking to break out of the Monroe County diaspora.<\/p>\n
